With reference to my despatch No.50 of the 10th instant, I have the honour to inform you that owing to the appointment of Mr. F.H. May, Captain Superintendent of Police, to be Acting Colonial Secretary, his seat on the Legislative Council has become vacant, and I have therefore provisionally appointed Mr. A.W. Brewin, Inspector of Schools, to fill the vacancy.
